CalWORKs On Campus Work Study Students

Timecards for all on-campus hours worked must be submitted to the Fast Track To Work Office on time! NO EXCEPTIONS

The pay period is from the 20th of a month through the 19th of the next month. The timecard must be completed with the correct budget numbers, hours worked, hourly rate, total pay due and your direct supervisor's signature. Turn in your completed timecards to the Fast Track To Work Office by 5:00 on the 19th. We will forward it to the Financial Aid Office and they will send them on to Payroll after the timecard has been audited. Blank yellow timecards are available from your supervisor or the Student Employment Office. You should also read the student handbook online.

If you follow these instructions you will be paid on time and your check will be available for pickup at the college bank around the 10th of the following month. There are a few exceptions to these due dates around any holiday or semester break. Ask your supervisor for more information.

If you do not follow these instructions, you will not receive your check until the following month. There are no payroll advances.

WIA Students Information

Unemployment Benefits
Were your unemployment checks halted this semester pending an EDD interview? Send us an email to let us know!

Vouchers vs. Reimbursements
The county will no longer be accepting reimbursements for items that can be purchased through a voucher process. Anything that can be bought at Galli Uniform or the Cabrillo Hawkshop cannot be reimbursed. Please be sure to use a voucher for purchases at both of these stores.

Transportation Reimbursement
For those of you receiving transportation reimbursements, you may pick up from our office a fall semester form for you to keep track of your transportation days for the entire semester. The original signed form is to be turned in to our office within 5 days from the end of the semester.

Submitting Regular Reimbursements
Please be as organized as you can when submitting regular reimbursement requests. Remember to highlight your name, dollar amounts, vendors, dates, etc. and match up original receipts with proofs of payments.

Human Services Majors

New preferential value for our students with Cabrillo Human Services Certificates.

Over the past year, the Cabrillo Human Services (HSERV) Program faculty has been working closely with the county Mental Health Agency in their planning and implementation of the Mental Health Services Act and specifically, the Workforce Education and Training component. Patrick Meyer, HServ PC, was informed that County Personnel will now assign our Human Services Certificates an extra point value when evaluating applications for entry level positions in Mental Health. This means that when a current or former student with certificate(s) applies for a position, their education will be given a preferential value compared to other applicants. Congratulations to Patrick and the HServ faculty and students!
