Math Day Spring 2017

Internship and Work Experience, Student Showcase

All are invited on Thursday May 4th in the upper quad (just outside the 100 building) where internship and work experience students will showcase the work they have been doing over the past year.

Cabrillo students will present and Q&A with anyone who would like to listen about the great work they are doing pursuing career goals and developing professional skills in local businesses and organizations. Please come by and ask lots of questions!

The event is on from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm and designed for folks to stop on by at their convenience and stay as long as they wish. There will be free coffee and snacks available as well.

Cabrillo students can enroll for credit for their internships through the Work Experience and Internship program, and often the credit can be used for a degree or certificate and be transferable to a four-year college.

Spare Change Music Festival - May 6th 11am to 7pm

The Spare Change Music Festival is a free, all day music festival emphasizing the real change that can happen when people work together and pool their resources. This free, all ages, family friendly community event will feature a compilation of unbelievable musicians, artists and nonprofits all dedicated to educating the community about the realities of the issues facing our communities and environment while providing ideas and solutions. In addition to the educational aspect of the event, the primary goal is to raise money for our featured nonprofits that are addressing these issues around the community and the state by encouraging people to donate their “spare change” they either come with, or that is generated through their purchases from the vendors exhibiting at the event.

4/22 Last Day to Withdraw from Full Term Course

Saturday, April 22 is the last day to drop a full-term section with a grade of "W".

It is your responsibility to formally withdraw from courses. Instructors will not do it for you. You may receive an F on your transcript even if you stopped attending.

The time to register for Summer session is almost upon us!
The Summer Schedule is online now! Look at it with your ed plan to make sure the classes you need are being offered.

Be aware that early registration for CalWORKs and WIOA students is only ONE DAY before early registration for all continuing students! Don't delay to register or you might not get the classes you need!

You can schedule an appointment with our counselor to make sure your ed plan is correct and has the correct classes for the Summer session. Give us a call 831-479-6344 to schedule!

April 20 - Summer Schedule available online

Introducing the CalFresh Restaurant Meals Program!

Santa Cruz County’s Restaurant Meals Program enables eligible CalFresh recipients to purchase a nutritious prepared meal at participating restaurants with their Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card.

Who Can Use the Program
The Restaurant Meals Program is available to persons that receive CalFresh who:

  • Are experiencing homelessness; or
  • Are age 60 or over; or
  • Have a disability.
The EBT cards are electronically tagged if the holder is homeless, disabled, or over 60. Therefore a card for a person without these issues will not work at the restaurants. If you become homeless, contact the county.
Restaurant Meals Program participants can continue to use their CalFresh benefits at grocery stores, farmer’s markets, and other locations that accept EBT cards.

Participating restaurants will have an EBT Cards Accepted Here sign displayed. The following provides current participating restaurants:

FREE Tax Preparation

You can still receive assistance with your taxes at the Watsonville Public Library on April 18th from 3:00 to 5:00. After April 18th, contact Project SCOUT to schedule an appointment.

What to bring:
  • Photo ID
  • Social Security cards or ITIN for each person on your tax return
  • W-2, 1099, 1098 forms for all jobs held in 2016
  • Child care costs for 2016 & provider info
  • A voided check for direct deposit (optional)
  • Copy of 2015 tax forms (not required, but helpful)
